This week's recap

Friday I was finally able to donate blood.  I tried 2 weeks ago - my iron was too low.  I didn't make it back the next week to try again.  The Monday after that, I went to the donation center and tried to be a walk-in.  They were busy and it would have been a long wait.  I signed up for the LCSC blood drive the next day.  I found a parking spot, no small feat, found the SUB, another big accomplishment, found the donation location, and was told the computers were really slow, and would I be able to wait?  I could for a bit, so I settled in with my book on my iPhone.  15 minutes later, they shut down the drive.  It was just going too slow!!  Arrrgghhh!  So...I went to the donation center yesterday as a walk-in again.  They had a spot for me, and they took my blood sample.  The first one was low, but they tried the other hand.  Success!!  I was in the range, and soon was hooked up to a bag collecting my blood!  Yay!  I have set a goal to donate 6 times this year, and I was running out of chances!!  So glad it worked out.

Its been snowing!  Thursday night it started, and we woke up to a blanket of white.  It stopped during the day, but this morning, we woke up to a fresh layer of snow.  John and Trev went to the Klondike Derby (winter campout with competition built in) and they had plenty of snow at the campground.  They got home safely with all of their fingers, toes and ears.  I knew they would be okay, but I was a bit worried they might get a little frostbite. In the end, all the scouts made it home, safe and sound.  Kristin has had some good driving in snow experience.  The sad thing for this mama is that in the past, we have dropped everything to make sure we take advantage of the snow, and get ourselves out to sled down the hill.  You can see from the picture that there is not a track to be found in our snow!  Sigh!!  Trevor was gone, and Kristin wasn't going to go without him.  Yet another sign that my kids are growing up!!

Speaking of which, it was Kristin's birthday this week.  Sweet sixteen!!  We had her family dinner Thursday.  The usual for her - Bulgogi, potatoes (two kinds), corn, crescent rolls from a can, jello and green pie (two this year)!!  Friday, I threw her a surprise party!  She said she was a little suspicious, but I think the girls popping out from behind the dining room table and out of the kitchen still surprised her.  Pizza + the Frozen soundtrack + a lot of noise + cell phones = a good time.  They didn't even want the hot fudge sundaes I had ready to go, they were enjoying themselves too much.

Guess who was Student of the Month for January?  So proud of him!  He is keeping up the tradition of being a great kid at the Jr. High.  You will note the name of the Jr. High.  Their mascot is the Braves.  Someone from the tribe proposed that the mascot should be changed, so it went before the school board.  Don't know how that went, I will be interested to see.  Apparently the mascot used to be the Savages, which I can see might be negative in some people's opinion.  I actually think Braves is pretty positive and not derogatory in any way.  It is surely not as un-politically correct as the Orofino Maniacs, so named because the Idaho State Mental hospital was located there for many years.  No one has ever complained about that???  Hmm...

Our son-in-law, Brandon is in Dubai for a training meeting sponsored by his employer.  Kristin knew about this man made island off the coast so we told Brandon to get a picture of it.  Little did we know he would actually be staying on it!  What other adventures are in store for him?  Who knows???

This little guy just keeps growing.  We are looking forward to him and his mom visiting for a week.  Chelsie got her tonsils out, so she'll be here with Carter while she recuperates for a  few days.  Such a sweetie!!

It has not been a quiet week in our little town!
Homecoming week is to put it mildly, busy!  Amber has been spending hours of time on it this week - decorating the hall, planning the dance, planning and helping decorate the float!  Then to top it off, she was nominated and selected as one of the Sr. Homecoming Princesses!  Very exciting.  Normally, the girls are escorted by their dads, but John happens to be out of town, so Trev stepped in for him.  He didn't want to, but really bucked up and did a great job!  My mama heart was bursting!! (My pictures are not very good, hoping for one of the other moms to have some better ones, but these will have to suffice for now!)

Trevor received Student of the Month for 7th Grade today!  I got the letter a few days ago letting me know he was a nominee!  He is starting strong!

Kristin  came home and said she felt like a loser!  :)  Not to worry for she scored two goals in her soccer game this week!

Sign me - a mama who is grateful for kids who make her feel like a winner!

Trying to get back in the saddle

My word, it has been a long time, and I have been a slacker.  At this point it seems like its easier to let the whole blog thing go, but there is still a part of me that wants to keep things going, and maybe even step it up a notch.

Fall is falling and the weather is delightfully cooler than the end of August.  The mornings are brisk.  This is a familiar refrain "Can we close up the house?"  I am loving the cross breeze through the living room/kitchen, even if it means putting on a jacket.  Too soon we'll be keeping the doors and windows closed for good.  I say we go with the breeze for as long as we can.

School has started.  I documented the first day of school this year.  Not a usual thing I do, mostly because I don't think about it until its too late!  I did have to get a pix of Amber's outfit since she is so full of school spirit, and I made her shorts for her under a bit of a time crunch due to circumstances beyond my control! GO BENGALS!!!

Amber, dressed as a Sr. Leader is ready to orient the lowly Sophomores

Kristin was already bored with 9th Grade before it even started, but Trev was ready to take 7th Grade by storm.
With the start of school also comes the start of Fall Sports, Homecoming Hall plans, football games and so much more, but let's take a little walk down memory lane, and recall a bit of summer.

Camping in the backyard

The boys came to town to hang out with us while mom and dad went on a fantastic European vacation.    We probably had more fun than they did!  (At least a different kind of fun.)

One night, Trev, T1 and Kristin broke in the new tent by having a backyard camp out.  T1 had a great time so they did it a second night, but didn't have as much fun until Aunt Amber came to sleep with them.  (The shadowy branches were just a little too scary!!)  Here's a funny thing.  The morning after the first camp out, Ash and Brandon called to skype with the boys early in the morning.  The house was really quiet, I hadn't heard a sound, so I assumed they were all still sound asleep in the tent.  We skyped for a bit, but they had to go do something fun like hike up a mountain in Switzerland, or eat gelato in Italy, so we signed off.  Unbeknownst to me, the campers were all downstairs watching a movie because the sun woke them up at 5 am!!!  They slept in a little later the second time, but not much!
At any rate, T1 loved it, and we know Brandon is glad that we introduced him to camping out.  What a great family activity!  :)

Don't be a Ditz - Vote for Rietz

Amber for Sophomore Vice President

Vote Rietz

Don't Vote for Pedro - Vote for Amber Rietz for VP

These are just a few of the clever and effective slogans that Amber used to get the word out that she is the girl for Sophomore V.P. The posters, made by Kristin (mostly) and Amber (some), as well as a very original speech (more on that in a minute) convinced her fellow classmates to make the right choice.

So what was the original speech you ask? Imagine a hearing a rainstorm in the auditorium, this provided by the audience, an umbrella and a pair of rain boots. Now imagine the candidate, umbrella open, puddle jumping on the stage. (Original doesn't even do it justice. ) Needless to say, the voters saw a winner and voted accordingly.

Amber is ready to serve her constituents to the best of her ability. She didn't disappoint the next day - it rained and she showed up in, what else, her rain boots!

CONGRATS!!! WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU!

The Month in Review...

Okay, really the month and a half. My kids keep reminding me that I haven't updated the blog since last month, so here are more than a few photos of what has been going on that has kept me from blogging - aka - all the excuses I can think of.

Excuse #1 - The Talmanator

Talmage came to town and who can blog with such a cutie around? "Not I", said the grandma.
He got to stay a whole week with us while Ashley and Brandon went on a little getaway. He and I were buddies all day long while everyone was at school or work, but come 3:49ish, he really came alive. When the kids came home, he was excited, and then when Grandpa came home, he was elated. Here he demonstrates his torture method on Uncle Trevor.

Even though he is The Talmanator, he does possess a compassionate side, and always has a hug and a big slobbery kiss for his prisoner.

Talmage is also really smart and continued to strengthen his relationship with Grandpa.

Hygiene is also very important to The Talmanator, and more than one night found him in Grandpa and Grandma's tub, splashing up a storm. Uncle Trevor was always happy to be his partner in crime.

He was pure fun to have around. Even his little "fits" when he didn't get his way were fun to watch! We'll take him back anytime!

Excuse #2 - Cub Scouts

March means Pinewood Derby in these parts, and this year proved as exciting as years past. (Okay, last year is really the first one I've been at, but it was exciting too! :-)

Trevor's car is the one that will come in 1st place in this picture. He didn't always win, but he was a respectable 2nd place in the races he didn't.

March's theme of "Take Flight", was also a perfect opportunity for our den to go to one of our favorite places, the local Helicopter company, where one of our ward member's works and graciously lets us come and walk around the very expensive helicopters. I know the boys love this, because they are very careful as they walk around and listen very carefully to whetever Bro. Palmer has to say.

I can't use Cubs as an excuse much longer, as I have been called to work in Relief Society again, and will soon be released as Bear Den Leader. It has been fun, and I have really loved being able to be with Trevor.

Excuse #3 - Math Competition
Okay, truth be told, my contribution to Math Competition was picking up Kristin from the practices. Not really excuse worthy. But...it did happen in the last 6 weeks, and I thought I should at least mention it.

They placed the same - 4th. In the same category - Geometry, as they did last year.

Thank you, Mr. Murphy, for all your time as their coach!

Excuse #4 - One more trip to the Emerald City

Where did the last 6 months go? It was already time for Ashley and Brandon to move back to Dallas, so we trekked over one last time to spend the weekend with them. We took a few pictures at some of the favorite tourist viewpoints - Lovely. We hung out a little at Pike's Market - so many interesting people. We made it to the temple - always worth the effort. Ate yummy Thai food - the best yet out of the two times I've had it. The weather was perfect for a little park time - yay for sun! We also got to hang out with Chelsie and her friend, who made a road trip to Seattle the same weekend we were there - timing truly is everything.

So as you can see, it has been a very busy 6 weeks, and I'm only at the end of March.
To be continued...

Carving Pumpkins

When your kids can carve their own pumpkins with a minimum of assistance, you know they are growing up. Of course, the mama of this group has mixed feelings about this situation. There is a feeling of relief that I don't have to stick my hand inside a cold, wet, stringy pumpkin to clean it out, (well, in the end I had to help Trev a bit with that), yet on the other hand a twinge of remorse at yet another signal that my kids are becoming less and less dependent on me. Of course, they are still very happy for me to feed them, and do their laundry, and take them where they need to go, etc. But little moments like this are those I really thought I would never experience as a mom of six children who always seem to need something.

But, here they are, in living color - scraping, carving, drilling, shaping. All by themselves.
Trevor still needed me a little. :-)

Kristin did just fine thank you very much.

You may notice the extra big smile on Amber's face! That's because she is October's Student of the Month for 9th Grade!!! Woo Hoo!

Amber's Campaign Video.

Amber's Campaign Video!

Okay so here's my video for my campaign for the Class and School President. Unfortunately the Elections were on Friday and I didn't win. A girl from my old soccer team won which was good. The two twin boys are my friends from school, and then the three girls are some of my best friend. The video was to prove to my school that I can be funny and would make the Sacajawea Channel enjoyable and not BLAH like this year. So I hope that you enjoy this movie and sorry ahead of time about the clicks that happen to make the noise hard! :)

Road Trip 2008

Well, we knew it was coming. It hung over some of us all summer; couldn't get here fast enough for some others - the end of summer. New school supplies, a few new clothes, a new fuel pump for the suburban (that was a surprise!), and most importantly of all, a new college freshman. (note the blue words in honor of BYU!!! ;-)

We took Chelsie down to BYU last week. We had a plan, knew which day we were leaving, got the laundry done, Chelsie was packed - we were close to being ready - when, SURPRISE, the suburban broke down. Wouldn't turn over, wouldn't budge. A bad fuel pump was to blame, and after a rush repair job, we finally got on the road Thursday afternoon about 4:00. Only about 8 hours later than we hoped.

We were anxious to get to Utah, because Brandon and Ashley (with her cute little baby bump) were there. We couldn't wait to see them. Luckily, we got there safely about 2:45 am. and the next day, the party began. We hung out at Pineview Reservoir with Ashley, Brandon and his family, the Cleggs. (I'm pretty sure the Rietz contingency was boring because we were all tired, sorry Cleggs.)

We managed to sneak in a quick visit to Grandma Hughes. She about had heart failure when she saw 10 of us lined up at her door. But after she recovered from the shock, she really enjoyed our visit, even though it was shorter than we planned. Her smile was from ear to ear.

The rest of the day, we hung out at BYU - spending money at the Bookstore, eating creamery ice cream, and walking around campus a bit. Kristin learned what I mean when I say BYU is the best place to play the license plate game, we even saw Hawaii!!! Very exciting for some of us!

After a few days at Clegg's, we drove south and spent the next two nights with Joni and Jim. Joni hosted a nice Sunday dinner and the Schreiners and Kuntz's were there. Kalli showed up for a bit, and it was nice to spend time eating and chatting with everyone. Uncle Jim took Trev fishing Monday morning. What a guy!

Monday was D-day. We checked Chelsie into David John Hall at BYU. John took the rest of the kids to a few BYU sights, and I helped Chelsie unpack, get a little settled and make a list of all the things we forgot, or didn't know she needed.

Sadly for John and I, when we're in Utah, we can't avoid shopping, so that took up most of the rest of Monday. A happy thing about Utah is that Olive Garden is close to BYU, so we met Joni and Jim, and about made ourselves sick on yummy salad, bread sticks and pasta. Jim was the only one who managed to get a refill on his pasta, the rest of us were too stuffed.

Then, the inevitable came, we had to leave Chelsie in her dorm, and head up the road. I was not ready to leave her, but really, when would I be ready. She was the only one on the floor, and I was worried she would be lonely. Little did we know, Spencer Clegg, Ashley's bro-in-law, was also in Provo, called her, and they hung out a little. Thanks Spencer. Hopefully she was able to climb into her bed without hurting herself. She wanted a little storage space under her bed, but didn't expect a bed so tall she needed a step-ladder to get into it!!!

Cleggs hosted us one more night which cut a little time off our trip, and after a little sleep, made an early morning departure. We plugged along all day, and made it safely home.

Kristin knew before we left that she had Mrs. Kinzer and Trev found out he had Mrs. Feeney. We made it home in time to get to the open house on Tuesday. Good thing because the next day was...

The first day of school! Everyone seemed to get out the door with no problem, but silly us, forgot to bring umbrellas. We can't remember the last time it rained on the first day of school, and it didn't just rain, IT POURED, just about the time Kristin and Trev had to be there, so all 3 of us got a little wet.

Amber was happy to be with her 8th grade friends. Alli was VERY happy to be able to drive herself to LHS by herself, and Michele wasn't quite sure what to do with herself at first, but we all will adjust just fine, no doubt.

Travel logs aren't much fun, and as I read this, I realize that is exactly what I have just written, so to end I'll give you just a few of our favorite highlights to maybe take the edge off the boringness.

- Ashley and Chelsie watching me try sushi. Now I can cross that off my list
- Singing to our favorite Disney songs in the car (I look once more - just around the river bend...there goes the baker with his tray like always...you've got a friend in me...lavender blue, dilly dilly. Just to name a few)
- Seeing the baby bump and feel him kick
- Olive garden bread sticks
- BYU football QUEST T-shirts. Only $5.00 at the bookstore
- Playing the license plate game at BYU
- BYU creamery ice cream
- Seeing Chelsie's reaction to all the couples holding hands on campus (She was not ready for that.)
- Being able to spend time with the aforementioned friends and family
- Pulling into our driveway Tuesday afternoon

A few other bits non-trip related. (Note the color change)

Trevor got to attend his first pack meeting last week. He received his Bobcat badge and is already working on his Wolf. Keep up that enthusiasm, Trev. All the way to Eagle Scout!!!

Also, here is a picture of our house, complete with exterior paint, gutters and downspouts. As you can see, the yard is next on the list. Not sure if it will ever be the same.

I leave you with a sunflower from our garden. A sweet reminder of summer's end, and fall close on it's heels.

the week in review

Summer's End

(note: the camera has been on summer break, so you just get to read my ramblings sans pictures of my cute family. Sorry.)

Summer went all too quickly, and we are getting ready for school to start in these parts. Kristin and Trevor, mostly Kristin, can't wait to see the papers go up in Centennial's windows that will list the classes and their teachers. (How many more times do I have to tell her they will go up at the end of this week? She just can't wait!!!) Hopefully she won't expire before she gets the info, and if they should be posted after we leave for Utah this week, her friend has my cell phone number and strict instructions to call and let Kristin know. Where would we be with out cell phones? Which brings me to my next topic...
Why do we have to have cell phones? Many hours were spent this week trying to figure out the new cell phone arrangement since Chelsie is going to school. It is hard to do such a thing with parents who do not think Text Messaging is a vital part of life. To add to it all, BYU must have figured they can save a boatload of money and do away with the phone system in the dorms. (Really smart actually. Does this mean that housing costs may go down? Ha, just kidding.) So, how many minutes does a college freshman, her mom and the "kid" phone really need a month? We'll find out, soon no doubt. Hopefully, we have enough. Which brings on the next subject...
Chelsie is off to BYU -soon. She is busy buying, packing, spending time with friends (the most important thing), working a few more hours and imagining the incredible social life she will finally have when she is there. I keep reminding her she has to study while she is there. :-) It is my responsibility as her mother to do those things you know. She is excited, and although we will miss her more than words can say, I feel confident she will be in the right place doing the right things. I know she is ready for BYU but my question is this - Is David John hall (and BYU as a whole) really ready for Chelsie? I know one person who will miss her greatly at home - Allison will miss having a good buddy to share the basement with. Which brings on the next topic...
Lewiston has a new licensed driver on the road. Allison got her license Friday and couldn't be more excited. She is looking forward to being able to get herself to Volleyball tryouts this week, which she is nervous for but looking forward to. She is NOT looking forward to school. She registered this week, and her class schedule didn't elicit any positive vibes. She, as well as all the other LHS students, will have to get used to a new block class schedule. It is supposed to mean less homework, but it definitely means more classes, and for someone who doesn't want school to start anyway, more classes is not happy news. Time will tell. Speaking of registering for school...
Amber also registered at Sac Jr High, and couldn't be more excited. She'll be on the green team with the majority of her friends. She hasn't admitted it, but I think she is ready for school any day now. Soccer is in full swing for her. Her first game is at the beginning of September, and as much as her team has had practice, I'm guessing they will be ready. She won the gold medal for "speed-speaking" in Sacrament Meeting today. I think her talk lasted a whole 2 1/2 minutes, and during that time I'm not sure she breathed once, and I couldn't flash my Proud-mom smile at her because she didn't look up at all either. She did a good job nonetheless and she is glad to be off the hook for awhile. She also conquered the wake board. She has had a few successful runs and feels so glad to have that monkey off her back. Speaking of monkeys on your back....
Trev has not mastered the wake board yet, but I bet next year, he'll be a pro. He has mastered his Bobcat though, and is working hard at his Wolf in Cub Scouts. This weekend he took me on a family hike, and also signed off most of his requirements learning about tools. His week's highlight was getting his cub scout shirt. He was waiting patiently, mostly, for someone in our ward to find their son's old one. Oh happy day...which is how I would describe my next entry...
A perfect day at the river. We finally had one. The weather was HOT, the water was CALM and we had a great day. It was Chelsie's last day before she leaves, and I don't think it could have been better. The kids had a blast wake boarding, tubing, and eating. While they weren't doing any of the above, they had fun just relaxing and playing with friends. Chelsie, Allison and I all worked on water yoga. Don't be looking for a DVD release anytime soon. Just try doing the tree pose in water with your arms in the air. Not easy!!! For me anyway. It was truly a great day. Water sports reminds me of...
The Olympics and how much we have been enjoying them. Bedtimes have been pushed back to catch the action, but not far enough in Trev's opinion. He really wants to watch the swimming. Enter the internet, which he finally got to see the two most exciting Michael Phelps races on. We have also been able to watch a lot of Beach Volleyball, and will someone please explain to me why the girls barely wear anything and the men's uniforms are very modest and apparently quite functional. (A bit of a sore point with me obviously.) The Olympics will end this next week, but we have certainly enjoyed them to the fullest. We have not been watching the Olympics though during John's big project this weekend...
Fixing more sprinklers. Just when he thought he had them all working, put back together after the big moat that the builders dug in the front yard, and the big trucks coming and going for 6 months, there were still problems. He put his thinking cap on, spent a bit of money, and spent most of the day in the hot sun Saturday, but in the end, feels like things are back on track. Now he has lawn re-seeding to look forward to. No rest for the weary.
Weariness is the perfect way to get to my next subject...
I'm weary - mostly from lack of sleep due to staying up during the Olympics. That is the culprit. I'm mostly just wishing August had a week or two extra so we could prolong the College Freshman drop off, but the flip side of extra weeks would mean that much longer until we see Ashley and Brandon, which is unthinkable. We leave Thursday or Friday to head to Utah. We'll get to spend a part of our trip with them. Yay!! I can't wait to see the baby bump in person, and to hang out with the mom and dad-to-be. We plan to spend a little time with Grandma Hughes, who is excited for us to be there. Various friends and family will put us up a night or two, so we look forward to spending time with them also. We'll check Chelsie in to her dorm room a few days early, and get home just in time for school to start the next day. Which brings this blog full-circle and is my cue to sign off.

Can you say "Soccer all day"? That's what Saturday brought for us. Soccer Storm, the annual 3 on 3 tournament found Kristin, Amber and Trevor all on teams.
Here is Trevor with his team, the White Knights. Paige, Trevor, Flat Stanley (who didn't actually play, just got in the picture), Sean and Nick

As National Honor Society Secretary, Chelsie (3rd from the right) got to read the names of the new inductees at the ceremony this week. She did a fine job, and paused just long enough to let each student get to the stairs before she read the next one. I love this picture because she is standing next to Steven Heitzman (2nd from the right) and he is verrrry tall, and she is not. They have been friends since kindergarten when they started playing soccer together. They also share the same birthday. The height difference isn't as striking in the photo, but it person, I got a kick out of
it.

Amber's team - October Blues with their very cool tie dyed shirts and socks. Jill, Maranda, Makayla, and Amber. (Okay, not really sure which twin is which, just a best guess. I could tell if I saw the back of their shirts.) They came in third, which they weren't thrilled with, but no doubt came out of the tournament having had fun.

The White Knights with their 3rd place ribbons. The team they were supposed to play for 3rd or 4th didn't show up, so they won 3rd by forfeit. I don't think they really understood what forfeit meant, but they were excited to tell everyone that's how they won anyway.

Here is Kristin with her team (clockwise from Kristin) Michael, Kian and Ashley. aka Team Extreme

Here is Team Extreme with their 1st place place trophies and their very nice coach, Mr. Murphey. (Remember him Ash?) FYI - the X on their forehead is for Extreme. They had to explain it to me.

And our last news item from the world of sports is very exciting. Allison and her partner, Cindy, qualified for state in girls doubles this weekend. They will travel with the team from LHS to Boise next weekend to play in the State Tournament. All but 3 of the Varsity team qualified. There will be lots of Purple and Gold in Boise next week. (no picture available)

Yard work continues and John and I worked on Friday to build a little retaining wall at the back of the house. One project checked off the list, too many to count still there)

(editor's note) I'm having trouble formatting this blog and will work on it, but at this time, you'll just have to bear with me. Sorry.

He'll forever be a fox!

John received his Wood Badge beads at a court of honor last Wednesday. (I didn't remember to put it in last week's blog. Still learning!!!)
He was in the fox group, so now whenever scouts are gathered he can sing the Wood Badge song with all the other foxes. Way to go, John.

In other John news... he has begun to put back together our yard which was made to look like a war zone after the remodel. Those big trucks really took a toll on the yard, not to mention the trench (moat) that they dug right through the front yard (strip of dirt behind John) which he has to re-seed, but not before he fixes all of the underground sprinklers that were broken, pipes too, throughout the project. It will keep him off the streets and out of trouble for much of the summer I imagine!! In this picture, he's building a retaining wall to build up the front yard to be level with the new porch.

Welcome Flat Stanley!
We do have a guest for the next couple of weeks. Flat Stanley came to stay courtesy of Burke Jensen, Trevor's friend who moved to Indiana. He's supposed to be having grand adventures, but so far the most adventurous thing he's done is go see Kristin's Duck Stamp drawing. (To the right of Stanley.) We have a few more weeks to take him fun places.

Prom, 2008

Prom was last night. Here is Allison with her friends, left to right, Abby, Erin, and Kaitlyn. They had fun getting ready together and having their dates pick them up together.

Putting on the boy's flowers proved tricky for most of the girls.

Allison and her date, Jake Leavitt

Sadly, these are all the pictures I got of them before they left. I had to leave in a rush because there was a problem with Chelsie's dress. ....

Here is the dress that I have been working on for the past 2 weeks. It over all went well, ,and I have to say, it
was my best invisible zipper ever, Unfortunately, said zipper got caught in the lining, which I also thought I did a nice job on, and it wouldn't budge. I got to Sena's house and Mandy was stitching up the rest of the zipper by hand. In the end it looked okay, but what a way to end a project. Chelsie loved the dress though, so all was well.

Here is the group that Chelsie went with. From top to bottom - Michael, Janie, Ryan, Chelsie, Ryan, Marika, Sena, Ryan. (I think Michael should have just changed his name for the night, hmm, Ryan would have been a good choice.)

Princesses Chelsie and Janie, with their boys. In place of the coach, they got the Hummer treatment. A fun time was had by all. And that is the Prom 2008 report.

In other family news, Amber had a doubleheader in Spokane. One game ended in a tie, and one game they were the victorious ones. 5 - 1. Saturday for those who were home, (John, Michele, Kristin and Trevor) was spent doing yard work. (I think I can see a trend for most of the Saturday's in the future)

Allison goes to regionals this week for tennis. She said she and her partner have a good shot at making State. You go girls!
