Long time no see

Happy Summer.

Apparently our blog has been on summer vacation, but hopefully is back from break. :-) Here are a few happenings from the last few months.

Allison, Amber and I went to girl's camp the last week in June. The rest of the family stayed home to fend for themselves. Chelsie worked 3 of those days, which meant Trevor and Kristin got to spend those days with friends being farmed out to various ward members who showed them a very good time. Before camp Trevor kept asking how long until we were leaving. He tried to reassure me he would miss me, but I think I know the real truth.
Camp was fun. Farragut State Park was great and our ward young women enjoyed being together and enjoying the beautiful world created for us. (See above picture.)
Trev finished up his first season of baseball. Some games were better than others. It was always exciting when he got a hit. He also was a very good fielder and liked playing in the infield.
We need to report with sadness that we lost our dog, Sadie, on the 7th of July. She was old, could hardly walk, and I finally convinced everyone it was time to end her misery. Even though we know it was the right thing to do, we miss her, and are sad. It is weird not to hear her very deep bark, and see her keeping her post out in the backyard. We loved her big furry self.

We had a great vacation with Brandon's family; Steven, Shannon and their 5 kids (sadly, no Ashley or Brandon) on Hayden Lake. We were in a house which was right on the lake, dock attached, and spent day after day on the lake, swimming, sea-dooing, fishing and just having fun together. It sounds like a crazy thing, the in-laws getting together and vacationing, but this is the second year and we always have a great time together.

More sad news, and I went to Utah to the funeral of my Uncle Dennis. He died unexpectedly from a heart attack. Amber was my traveling companion and we took a quick 3 day trip to be there with family. It was a very nice funeral and tribute to a man who lived a good life and touched many hearts along the way. He will be missed.
We also had a quick visit this summer from Uncle Tony, who came to visit and ended up wiring our upstairs room for us. (Thanks Uncle Tony.) He was fun and we wish he could have hung out a little longer. We especially enjoyed the "presidential quiz" he made up to celebrate Chelsie's graduation.

So, there is our summer so far in a nutshell. The blog may need another vacation after doing so much catching up. I'll try to keep it focused.
